The Gathering is St James’ new student-oriented worship & supper service on Sundays at 5:30 p.m..

Lisa is recruiting both Meal Coordinators and Meal Helpers who assist the Meal Coordinator on site for particular Sundays during the fall term. A sign up sheet will be posted in the parish hall.

There are a couple of options for Meal Coordinators: (1) they can purchase the ingredients for a meal and prepare it on site with assistance from volunteers; or (2) they can coordinate a pot-luck meal for a particular Sunday asking particular members of the congregation to contribute items.

Right now we’re suggesting that Meal Coordinators who choose to make an meal rather than coordinate a potluck, consider menu options that can be made in large batches with any leftovers frozen (eg. chilli, stew, soup & bun) or meals such as spaghetti which can be stretched by adding more pasta to the pot. Since this is a new venture, organizers do not know how many students to expect.
