Journeying together in Christ

Sunday Services from September to the end of June

Sunday, 9 am.
The early liturgy is a quiet service using the older Book of Common Prayer.  We use Morning Prayer on the first Sunday of each month and celebrate communion the other weeks.  Worshipers are invited to come to the upper communion rail and receive the Lord’s Supper.

Sunday, 10:30 am

The later service is a Eucharist from the newer Book of Alternative Service.  It includes hymns, choir, organ, a children’s story, nursery and Sunday School for children and youth.  Worshippers are welcome to receive communion from the upper rail or from a communion station near the baptismal font (in the front right corner).  Clergy offer anointing and laying on of hands during communion on the 1st Sunday of each month and Lay Readers offer pastoral prayers for individuals after each service, if they wish. After the 10:30 service, all are invited for a time of refreshments and fellowship in the parish hall, accessible through the passageway near the organ (in the front left corner).
 Parking
On Sundays, free parking is available on Union, Arch and Barrie Streets.  During the day on Monday-Friday there is very limited “pay and display” parking on Union Street and a parking lot behind the Court House.
Transit:
St. James’ is right on the Kingston Transit #19 bus line and is a short walk from lines # 2, 3, 6 and 12.
