Journeying together in Christ

Easter Sunday Children’s Programs – Sun. April 17

St. James will be offering two opportunities on Easter Sunday for children to experience the good news of Christ’s resurrection, both online and in person.

Easter Sunday Children’s Church via ZOOM @ 9:30 AM
Join us online on Easter morning for Children’s Church via ZOOM. Older children will read the gospel story, Ruth Morrow will lead us in a contemplation of the empty tomb, we’ll sing a couple of songs and have a prayer time. Currently the children participating in Children’s Church via ZOOM range in age from 2 1/2 to 9 1/2 years old.

Parents/grandparents/godparents are encouraged to participate too   If you and your child, grandchild or god child have not joined us before for Children’s Church, please email Deacon Lisa at lisa@stjameskingston.ca and she will send you the ZOOM link. We do not publish the ZOOM link for Children’s Church via ZOOM for security reasons.

In Person Children’s Program during the 11 AM service
At our in person Easter Sunday Children’s program during the 11 AM service, children of all ages will hear the story of Jesus’ resurrection, participate in a reflection on the Empty Tomb with Ruth Morrow and then have the opportunity to make one or more characters from the resurrection story.

Children will begin the 11 AM in person Easter Sunday service with their families seated in the church pews. They are then invited to go forward to the front of the church for a short “Children’s Time” with our priest. Then the children’s program leaders will guide them to the parish hall for a special in-person Easter Sunday program. The children’s program will take place during the rest of the service until it is time for communion. Then, the children can rejoin their families so that they can receive communion or a blessing from the priest with their families.
