Journeying together in Christ

During the sermon time, of the 10:30 services, youth gather to discuss faith issues.Pentecost 2014_2 PP

Our High School youth group (grades 8-12) meet most Sunday mornings in Val’s office and our Junior High youth group (grades 4 – 7) usually meets in the comfy back alcove of the parish hall.  They gather for Bible study and a chance to hang out and get to know each other, our leaders and to deepen relationships with God.

Some Sunday mornings our youth are encouraged to get involved with the morning worship service by doing things like reading, helping in the Sunday School or nursery, running the sound board, serving communion, helping with coffee hour, participating in the music ministry etc.  It is great to have our youth involved in this way!

Each week our lively bible discussions are led by our committed youth team.  Our leaders include our 5 interns who are students at Queen’s: Courtney, Lauren, Varoon, Thomas and Colton. (For more information on each of these talented students, please click on their name.) This team is led by Rev. Val, assistant priest at St. James’, and has a number of other adult leaders as well.

Each month, both groups engage in a large group event – this might be canoeing, climbing, serving a meal at a soup kitchen, doing a service project around the community, going to the Wolfe Island Corn-maze or having a sleepover at the church.

Upcoming events will be posted on the website, and around the church.

We encourage you to register your youths by filling out the form located here on our website.
